A clever and funny segment from The Daily Show’s Wyatt Cenak about local churches in D.C. that are hoping the Obama family will pick them for their new church home. Kudos to The Rev. Randolph Charles of The Church of the Ephiphany for not letting Cenak goad him into saying that he would shorten the worship service if the president made the request.
Too bad New York Avenue Presbyterian Church wasn’t featured in the segment. Although it’s not in the immediate vicinity of the White House, it would’ve been a perfect place for Cenak to include in his report considering that it’s the church where Abraham Lincoln (whom Obama admires) worshipped. And I know a friend of mine, who is the associate pastor there, would’ve loved to have been interviewed for The Daily Show.
