The Gospel According to Goldman-Sachs

"Jesus Saves" coin bank

I was thumbing through the latest issue of Relevant magazine when I came across the following blurb in the section “Jesus in the News”:

“Goldman-Sachs has been in the news plenty, and not in a good way. But now they’re bringing Jesus into the mix. An international adviser for Goldman-Sachs said: ‘The injunction of Jesus to love others as ourselves is an endorsement of self-interest. We have to tolerate the inequality as a way to achieving greater prosperity and opportunity for all.”

And the adviser, Brian Griffeths, said this to churchgoers at St. Paul’s Cathedral on a Sunday morning, no less…makes you kind of ill doesn’t it?

Bloomberg News reports on what I’d like to sarcastically call  The Gospel According to Goldman-Sachs
